Eremitani Civic Museum

The Museum comprises of a newly designed Entrance, Bookshop, Ticket Office, Cafeteria and restoration of Cloisters with new stair access.

The arrangement of the “Cloister of the Hermits” conveys an effective coexistence between a historical and contemporary language. The new steel and glass structure clings to the wall of the cloister as a simple and lightweight structure. The design is approached with a sensitivity toward the existing building and attempts to establish a relationship with it. The new structure gains its strength, and draws its form through a process of integration with the existing form and new geometric shapes.
