We decided to reuse a 1950s-1960s building to host D-Air Lab, a “new-born” start-up, and the company LD72. The building is located in the industrial district of Vicenza Ovest by the Dainese Museum and Shop, not far from the Black Cube – Dainese S.p.A.’s Logistics Centre designed by Silvia Dainese.
The welcoming area, the kitchen-meeting services, and the “Research and Development” workshop are located on the ground floor. Offices and meeting room are located on the upper floor. These spaces, organised in the form of an “open-space”, are designed to be transparent with iron and glass partitions and aim at providing the working area with an informal atmosphere.
We privileged the use of simple and “poor” materials such as smooth concrete on the floors and varnish on the walls. The durmast oak window frames contribute to a warmer environment and constitute the only “designed” element within a rigorous space.
